The Scottish Hospitals Inquiry is seeking four experienced Paralegals to join its legal team for a 12-month contract. As a Paralegal, you will play a key role in the investigative work of the Inquiry, supporting the Solicitors to the Inquiry, and Legal Counsel. You will be responsible for handling large volumes of legal documentation, assisting with witness statements, supporting Counsel in investigations, and contributing to reports.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Solicitors and Counsel in reviewing and analysing evidence
  • Prepare reports, legal documents, and case materials
  • Support Counsel in investigations and witness interview
  • Manage core participant applications and documentation
  • Assisting with operation of funding protocol and applications, including supporting the Solicitor in assessing invoices and accounts
Essential Skills & Experience: 
  • Paralegal experience, ideally within an inquiry, regulatory body, or large-scale legal review
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and document management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to handle complex case materials and meet tight deadlines
