LOCATION: Edinburgh, Scotland (EH17) - Site presence at all contract locations within the Edinburgh area is essential. You will be required from time to time, to travel to other locations for meetings, although this will be infrequent

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Contracts Manager with motivational leadership / management skills, with a high degree of commercial awareness and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Working as the Contracts Manager you will be managing several contracts within the Edinburgh Area, ensuring an exceptional high level of service delivery to the clients, the Health and Safety of the people and delivery of P&L budget.
As the Contracts Manager, you will manage relationships with client stakeholders, monitor your teams’ performance and carry out site inspections plus much more.

DUTIES
Your duties as a Contracts Manager will include:
- Responsible for the Health and safety of the contracts. Ensure that all support staff and operatives hold adequate training prior to appointment of any position and the highest of standards are maintained
- Responsible for the P&L of the contracts. You will work with the commercial team to formulate month end valuations, in preparation for sign off with the Key Account Manager
- Work with the Estimator to develop strategies and solutions associated with the contracts, and manage their implementation, optimising cost, schedule and performance activities
- Manage the relationships with all client stakeholders
- Lead and motivate the site teams, ensuring end of year performance reviews are undertaken and develop plans in place
- Monitor the teams’ performance and ensure compliance within their roles
- Ensure Supervision are monitoring their direct reports appropriately
- Carry out site inspections and ensure that these are closed out in a timely manner
- Carry out Positive Interventions and discuss with site teams
- Ensure all work is undertaken within the job holder’s demonstrated level of competence
- Undertake site measures with QS to ensure accurate reporting of site norms in accordance with contract requirements
- Sign off on weekly wage costs including wages, ensuring that they have been correctly allocated to individual nominal codes
- Be aware of the business continuity plan for the contracts across the Edinburgh Area
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

- Planning - Organise and schedule events, activities and resources, to monitor timescales and plans to ensure delivery of Clients requirements

- Commercial Awareness - Understands and applies commercial financial principles. Views issues in terms of costs, profits, markets and added value
- A high degree of commercial acumen and cost and revenue awareness are essential features of this position
- Resilience - Maintains effective work behaviour in the face of setbacks or pressure. Remains calm, stable and in control of themselves
- Preferably previous experience within the Scaffolding sector working at a similar level
- Site Manager Safety Training Scheme desirable
- IOSH or NEBOSH is highly desirable
