Company Overview:

Our client is a well-established construction company specialising in new build student accommodation, high-rise apartments, and hotel projects. They are currently seeking a skilled Site Manager with a proven background in high-rise construction and fit-out works. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects based primarily in the Edinburgh area.

Position Overview:

The Site Manager will oversee the daily operations of construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role will focus mainly on internal works, although there may be some external elements. You will be managing projects ranging in value from £2 million to £20 million.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations on site, ensuring the successful completion of high-rise and new build projects.

Ensure all health, safety, and environmental requirements are met, and maintain high standards of quality control.

Supervise subcontractors and coordinate the activities of various trades.

Monitor project progress, identifying any issues or delays and resolving them promptly.

Manage budgets, track project costs, and ensure financial targets are met.

Maintain strong communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Act as the primary point of contact for any site-related issues.

Manage site logistics in urban environments, ensuring smooth workflow in confined spaces, typical of city-centre construction projects.

Conduct site inspections, audits, and ensure compliance with building regulations.

Candidate Requirements:

Experience:

Proven experience as a Site Manager with a focus on high-rise new builds and fit-out works.

Strong background in managing large-scale projects.

Experience in city-centre projects with a strong understanding of working in constrained environments.

Either a fit-out trade background or an engineering background is preferred.

Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain strong relationships with clients and sub-contractors.

Experience working on projects with a typical duration of 40 weeks or more.

Skills:

Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Ability to manage a team and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

High attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety.

Location:

Based in Scotland (preferably Edinburgh).

Must be willing to travel across Scotland for different projects.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm.

Flexibility to work weekends if required based on project needs.
