Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the design and development of water and wastewater projects, from conception through to construction phase.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical engineering aspects of multi-discipline design projects focusing primarily on water & wastewater M&E capital and growth projects
  • Work closely with contractors, commissioning team, and the client to develop solutions that meet required standards & specifications whilst taking ownership over design quality and consistency
  • Client-facing experience as well as a commercial awareness of design and construct projects Participate in design coordination with other engineering disciplines and professionals
  • Support design and delivery through producing high-quality Technical Schedules, Pump and Pipework Calculations, Valve selection, as well as feeding into Control Philosophies and Commissioning Plans Create engineering drawings, including process flow diagrams, piping & instrumentation drawings, and equipment/system layout drawings
  • Provide support and mentorship to other team members
  • Be able to present and defend solutions to complex problems to clients Engage in continual professional development, including pursuing professional registration (actively supported by the company)

Qualifications and Skills

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree / HND / HNC or equivalent in engineering or related discipline with strong experience in a project engineering environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations
  • Proven ability to work within a team environment with a dedicated approach to meet project deadlines

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with CAD software for creating technical drawings
  • Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment processes and equipment
  • Experience in design development for clean / wastewater non-infrastructure is desirable
  • Previous utility industry knowledge and experience is beneficial but not essential
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
