This varied role blends project leadership with hands-on operational and safety responsibilities. The successful candidate will manage new project development, support plant optimization, ensure safety compliance, conduct technical studies, and handle stakeholder management and procurement.

The ideal candidate will be a HSE professional with a background working in chemical plant environments. Other hazardous environments will be considered such as distillery and water treatment. Candidates must hold NEBOSH or equivalent.

The Role:

  • Lead development programs for new projects, ensuring timely and quality outputs, and managing project documentation and delivery plans
  • Assist the operations team with plant performance, optimisation, and conducting feedstock/project trials
  • Produce documentation for H&S compliance, developing information packs for training, and ensuring adherence to company policies and standards
  • Perform technical studies, reporting findings, and participating in HAZOP studies to ensure safe and optimal operating conditions
  • Manage external contractors and stakeholders, and supporting project procurement activities, including tender processes and contract negotiations

The Person:

  • Time served project engineer with a strong mechanical bias
  • Experience working in similar plant environments
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Full UK Driving License and willing to travel
