As a Trainee Project Officer, you will be enrolled on a dedicated 2-year development programme, supported by your line managers and mentors. This role offers genuine potential to progress further. You will be supporting the management of projects from conception to completion. These projects are generally mechanical, either in standalone projects or as part of a multi-disciplinary team

How you’ll support us on our mission to keep people safe and warm…

  • Feasibility and conceptual designs
  • Technical management and involvement in the detail design stage
  • Support procurement of materials to ensure compliance with relevant specifications
  • Onsite supervision of construction activities
  • Cultivation of a safety culture throughout the projects
  • Overseeing assigned work programmes from initiation through to programme closure
  • Ensuring required controls are in place to make sure the team are set to work safely
  • Team working and Integration with other engineering disciplines

What you’ll need

  • A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering and ideally some experience of working in an engineering environment or similar discipline
  • The ability to inspire and get the best out of their team
  • An awareness of working within a budget and being cost conscious
  • Able to think on your feet whilst always being safety aware.
  • Self-motivated, with good attention to detail and a proactive work ethic and have excellent numerical and analytical skills to be able to problem solve
  • Interested in developing your career within the gas network industry
  • Able to commit to 2 years of training and development
  • A full clean driving license and access to a vehicle
