STEM Recruitment Solutions is delighted to partner again with our Manufacturing client based in Edinburgh to recruit a Graduate Mechanical Production Engineer.
Job Purpose
Provide technical support to manufacturing operations, contributing to continuous improvement, new product introduction, and process engineering. Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and actively participate in cost-efficiency initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritise Health and Safety for production floor personnel.
- Identify and implement health and safety enhancements in manufacturing.
- Generate and update risk assessments for manufacturing activities.
- Collaborate with the quality department to enhance SOP documentation.
- Develop job-specific training plans for new hires.
- Update manufacturing documentation, including SOPs and specifications.
- Ensure and exceed Quality standards in manufacturing processes.
- Contribute to the design, layout, and tooling of production lines.
- Participate in new product introduction projects.
- Engage in continuous improvement activities on-site.
- Contribute to cost reduction and process efficiency projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- HND or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience working in a Production or FMCG environment.
- Proficiency with CAD (Solidwords or AutoCAD) is desirable.
- Familiarity with Health and Safety systems (IOSH certification desirable, training provided if needed).
- Effective interpersonal skills for communication at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills for effective technical issue resolution.
- Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
