We are excited to be working exclusively with one of our leading clients. They have created a new role to support their ongoing commitments. The Retrofit Technical Manager (RTM) will lead all Local Authority permission submissions across multiple contracts. The RTM will be a subject matter expert on PAS 2030 compliance and related standards, driving the Retrofit Centre of Excellence to implement and maintain industry standards across the company
Role
- Assess and advise on planning applications, listed building consents, and conservation areas for various contracts.
- Survey and generate necessary drawings (CAD) to support applications.
- Engage the Retrofit Team to utilise resources effectively.
- Monitor progress of ongoing referrals and report to internal management.
- Play an effective role in the wider management team, supporting strategic objectives and other functions as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with stakeholders (internal teams, local authorities) regarding consents and permissions.
- Assess feasibility of measures vs. necessary LA permissions.
- Provide technical guidance on approaching various LA permissions.
- Survey sites and generate CAD drawings of properties.
- Create and lodge planning/listed building applications.
- Develop skills across the team to manage processes effectively.
- Track and report on the status of applications.
- Forecast and plan resource utilisation.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships within the team and act as an internal ambassador for the Retrofit Team.
Person specification
Qualifications:
- Level 5 Diploma in Domestic Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management (Desirable)
- BS7913 Level 2 Traditional Buildings (Desirable)
- Degree/HNC/HND in Architecture or related field, or equivalent experience (Desirable)
Experience:
- Surveying existing dwellings (Essential)
- Generating and submitting planning and listed building consents (Essential)
- Retrofit Coordination (Essential)
- Working with internal and external stakeholders (Essential)
- Leading junior staff members (Desirable)
Skills:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent customer service, organisational, and administrative skills
- IT literacy, including use of handheld devices
