We have a fixed-termOperative (Loading Shovel Operator)role available within Aggregate Industries. This role is ideal for someone with relevant industry experience and skills in plant operations.

Role:Operative (Loading Shovel Operator)
Location:Gladsmuir (South Edinburgh), with duties across 9 sites in Central Scotland
Rate:21 - 24 per hour (PAYE)
Contract Length:13th January 2024 to 31st January 2024
Shift Patterns:7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Operate mobile plant equipment (e.g., Loading Shovel, Articulated Dump Truck) safely and efficiently.
  • Carry out daily safety checks and inspections.
  • Manage fixed production plant operations, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Dispatch products and maintain quality control standards.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping to ensure cleanliness and hazard-free areas.
  • Oversee plant assets, including materials, buildings, and equipment.
  • Respond to plant breakdowns and assist maintenance teams as required.
  • Document production data, breakdowns, and logs accurately.
  • Ensure adherence to plant routines and cleanliness protocols.

Essential Requirements:

  • NPORS or MPQC certification
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach
