About The Team:
The Human Resources team is responsible for supporting all aspects of the employee lifecycle at SRUC and provides advice and guidance on matters relating to their employment, including staff recruitment, promotion, appraisals, terms and conditions, contracts of employment, training/development facilitation etc.
Applications are invited for this exciting role working within the Human Resources Department based in Edinburgh. As hybrid working arrangements are currently in place, flexibility of location may be considered.
The opportunity
In this role you will support the Learning and Organisational Development (LOD) Partner in contributing to an effective and professional Human Resource function for the organisation. The post holder will provide professional advice and administrative support, with a particular focus on creating and delivering training and development programmes for all staff across the organisation.
Working closely with the LOD Partner you will:
- identify training and development needs within the organisation through needs assessment surveys, analysis and consultation with managers and staff across the organisation.
- design and manage training and development programmes based on the needs of the organisation and individual staff.
- create and deliver a range of training and development workshops for face-to-face, online and self-directed training.
- assist line managers and leaders solve specific training problems, via bespoke training programmes, one-to-one discussions and group workshops.
- research new training and development technologies and methodologies and employ these in training and development sessions.
- monitor and review the impact of training workshops by analysing feedback from questionnaires and discussions with staff.
- produce training reports for management for areas such as training attendance, engagement and impact.
In addition, you will:
- actively promote and encourage engagement with all training to develop a culture of continuous professional development across the organisation.
- be part of the HR team who delivers our corporate induction programme for new staff.
- join relevant HR/LOD committees and groups, attend meetings and relevant training courses, both internally and externally, to stay current and connected to other LOD professionals.
- undertake any other relevant duties, as required.
This appointment will be made on the basis of a fixed term contract which will conclude at the end of October 2025.
Occasional out of hours working, where business needs dictate.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Designing and delivering people/soft skills training, such as emotional intelligence and conflict management
- Up-to-date knowledge, skills and knowhow of the latest people & organisational development methodologies and technologies.
- Health and well-being qualification and/or delivery
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
- A positive, supportive attitude to working as part of a small but high profile team that has challenging work volumes and delivery targets
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Women's health and well-being qualification and/or knowledge/experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant subject (SCQF Level 9 or above) e.g.
- Organisational Development
- Education
- Business and related areas
- Psychology
- IT and Computer Studies
- Management

- Demonstrable comparable occupational experience
