My client are looking to add to the site leadership team with a new Buyer. You will play a key role in managing our procurement processes and inventory planning. You will collaborate with suppliers, monitor market trends, and ensure that we maintain optimal stock levels to meet customer demand while minimising costs. Your analytical skills and strategic thinking will be essential in driving our purchasing strategy and supporting our business goals.

Procurement Management:

  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices and terms for raw materials and products.Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and quality.
  • Monitor stock levels and forecast demand to ensure optimal inventory management.
  • Develop and implement inventory strategies to minimize waste and enhance efficiency.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities in the supply chain.
  • Analyse data to inform purchasing decisions and improve cost-effectiveness.
  • Work closely with production, sales, and marketing teams to align purchasing activities with business objectives.
  • Coordinate with logistics to ensure timely delivery and minimise disruptions.
  • Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, inventory status, and market trends to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a buying role, preferably in the food industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in inventory management and demand forecasting.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
