As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost on groundworks projects. You will work closely with the project management team, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered within budget and to the highest standard. Your expertise will play a critical role in the financial management of both pre-construction and construction phases of projects.
Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:
- Managing project costs from inception through to completion, ensuring that all costs are controlled and kept within budget
- Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for projects, ensuring accuracy
- Assisting in the procurement process, including preparing tender documents, assessing tender submissions, and selecting subcontractors
- Monitoring project progress and costs, ensuring timely and accurate reporting on any cost variations
- Working closely with project managers to track and resolve any cost-related issues that arise during the project
- Conducting regular site visits to monitor work, progress, and compliance with contractual agreements
- Managing variations, preparing cost reports and final accounts for projects
- Ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations, legal requirements, and industry standards
We'd like to speak to you about this job if you have:
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a civil engineering or construction environment
- A strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction methods is essential
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and financial acumen are required
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred
