The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s team and lead the commercial management of a high-profile refurbishment in Edinburgh. This role will suit a proactive individual able to work autonomously on projects over £80m.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all commercial aspects of the project, ensuring budgets and costs are effectively managed.
- Manage procurement processes, including the preparation and analysis of tender documents and appointment of subcontractors.
- Handle valuations, applications for payment, and subcontractor accounts, ensuring prompt and accurate certification.
- Monitor and manage project variations and changes, maintaining precise cost records.
- Produce detailed financial reports, including cost/value reconciliations and forecasts.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the commercial team.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
- Exceptional commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in cost management tools and software,
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
