Job Role: Care Assistant
Location -Edinburgh, Midlothian

A Care Assistant plays a vital role in supporting individuals with their daily living activities, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being. They work in various settings such as care homes, residential homes, hospitals, or clients' own homes, delivering high-quality, person-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Personal Care

    • Assist with daily personal hygiene tasks, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
    • Help clients with mobility, including lifting, moving, or using mobility aids like wheelchairs or hoists.
  2. Health Monitoring

    • Observe and record changes in the clients health or behavior.
    • Support with medication administration under supervision.
  3. Emotional and Social Support

    • Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being.
    • Encourage participation in social and recreational activities.
  4. Household Assistance

    • Help with light household tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
    • Ensure the environment is safe, clean, and comfortable.
  5. Communication and Reporting

    • Maintain accurate care records, documenting activities and observations.
    • Communicate effectively with family members, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.

Qualifications and Training
  • Essential:

    • Care Certificate
    • Basic understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
  • Desirable:

    • First Aid and CPR certification
    • Manual Handling training
    • Medication Administration
    • UK driving license
Working Hours
  • Typically work on a shift basis, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Full-time and part-time positions are available.
