About the Role:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our client in providing Homelessness and Housing support. This role is ideal for someone passionate about transforming expectations and experiences for individuals who have faced significant trauma, exclusion, and stigma. Our client supports individuals in maintaining their tenancies, helping them build safety, choice, and control in their lives. Working one-to-one in the community, you will deliver person-centred, trauma-informed support, collaborating with agencies and partners to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Promote choice, well-being, and protection from harm for those receiving support.
  • Develop and implement person-centred support plans to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Encourage active participation in decision-making and personal support.
  • Provide practical and emotional support, including managingbehaviours that challenge.
  • Advocate for people we support or facilitate advocacy when needed.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with partner agencies.
  • Build and maintain strong connections with local community services.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Uphold health, safety, and security in the workplace.
  • Actively participate in meetings and contribute to team collaboration.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • SVQ 3 in Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
  • SSSC Registration
  • Experience supporting individuals with experiences of homelessness, mental ill health, and/or substance use
  • Working in a fast-paced environment requiring quick decision-making

Desired Skills and Attributes:

  • Training in Trauma-Informed Practice, ASSIST, MHFA, or SafeTalk
  • Naloxone training
  • Qualifications in Mental Health or Substance Use

Additional Notes

  • Shift work and weekend work may be a requirement of this role. Flexible working arrangements are also available. These can be discussed at your interview.
  • PVG scheme membership and SSSC registration are requirements of this post.
