Sonic Summary

One of our public sector clients is seeking an experienced Software Developer for a 12-month contract with potential extensions.
The ideal candidate should have expertise in Python 3 and/or Java 17+, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, and modern DevOps practices including CI/CD and AWS technologies.
A day rate of approximately £450 is offered for this position, which is outside IR35.
Candidates should have collaborative experience in cross-functional teams and familiarity with testing tools and cloud monitoring processes.
While mostly remote, occasional onsite presence in Edinburgh or Glasgow may be required, and applicants should have relevant experience in software development.

One of our public sector clients is looking for an experienced Software Developer to join their team on a contract basis.

You will have the following skills and experience:

Python 3 and/or Java 17+
PostgreSQL/PostGIS
High performance computing and geometric methods relating to GIS.
Modern DevOps and CI/CD practices including deployment pipelines and Jenkins.
AWS including: CDK, Serverless (Lambda), S3, SQS, API Gateway, Cloudformation, Aurora / Postgres
Collaborative working in a crossfunctional team
Testing tools including test automation frameworks
Cloud monitoring, telemetry, intellignece tools and processes including Grafana

Experience of the following would be a bonus:

GeoServer
Spring Boot microservices
TypeScript
JavaScript UI Frameworks, including react

This is a 12-month contract with possibe extensions. Mostly remote, but you may be required onsite in Edinburgh or Glasgow on the odd occasion. Day rate is outside ir35 circa £450.
