R&D focused Tech organisation based in Edinburgh are going through a period of growth and are looking for an experienced Software Developer (C#) to join their growing hybrid team. Really flexible working and lots of autonomy on offer.

The company are taking high-precision lab technology and making it accessible and practical for real-world industrial use. Traditionally the technology has been costly, complex, and restricted to controlled lab settings, but this company has developed compact, durable devices that can perform rapid data analysis in the field. They have recently signed contracts with one of the largest players in the industry and are expecting serious growth off the back of this.

Their current Development function is fairly small and they're ideally looking for an experienced Software Developer to help maintain, improve and extend their current portfolio of products. You'll also be tasked with creating a variety of new projects from scratch - so they are ideally looking for someone fairly confident in their technical ability. Communication skills are also pretty critical for this role, as you'll be tasked to speak with customers (both internal and external) and help to build solutions that best fit their needs.

Their technology estate is still within its infancy and you'll be responsible for helping to mature this in time, with a focus around scaling. Several of the systems you'll be working on are written in modern C#, with SQL or Entity Framework usually with a MAUI or WinForms front-end and hosted in Azure. They're hoping you'll be able to quickly get to grips with the existing software, offer suggestions for optimum technologies and then implement these changes. You'll be given a lot of autonomy within this role, where you can genuinely make your ideas come to life - if you think a technology would be better suited and can justify why, you'll be encouraged to make the switch!

You'll ideally have commercial experience with the following;

** .Net (They're currently on .Net8)

** Web API's

** SQL Server and Entity Framework

** UI Frameworks (WPF, MAUI or WinForms)

Experience with the following is highly desirable;

** Azure Cloud Services

** Modern JavaScript Frameworks

** Working within an R&D environment

This role would suit an ambitious Software Developer that's looking for a challenging role within a growing organisation. There will be no shortage of work here and lots of opportunities to bring your own ideas on how things should be built.

Their offices are based in central Edinburgh (although they do have plans to move within the next couple of months to another Edinburgh location). They support hybrid working and hope Developers can pop in a couple times a week - they are flexible on this and offer very flexible working patterns.

In return, they're able to offer a salary from 40k to 60k for this role, depending on ability and experience with benefits to match (which include private health insurance).
