Site Investigation & Survey Manager required for a major offshore wind developer based in England

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the scope of work for geophysical, geotechnical, and environmental site investigations.
  • Prepare technical specifications and requirements for survey contractors.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and environmental teams to define investigation objectives.
  • Lead the tendering and selection process for survey contractors.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Act as the main point of contact between internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the acquisition, processing, and interpretation of geophysical and geotechnical data.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, accurate datasets suitable for engineering and design applications.
  • Conduct QA/QC on contractor deliverables and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Plan and manage offshore survey campaigns, including vessel logistics, equipment mobilisation, and personnel coordination.
  • Address real-time challenges and ensure safety and efficiency during offshore operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations during all site activities.
  • Secure ALARP site investigation report(s) and summaries for project stakeholders and third party contractors performing related works.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on survey findings to support project decisions.
  • Present findings to senior management and external parties, such as regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure all site investigations meet relevant regulatory and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate with environmental consultants to address permitting requirements and minimise environmental impacts.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing offshore site investigations, preferably in the offshore wind, oil & gas, or marine industries.
  • Strong knowledge of geophysical, geotechnical, and environmental survey techniques and equipment
  • Willingness to travel and spend time offshore as necessary.
  • Valid offshore certifications (e.g., GWO, BOSIET) are preferred.
  • Familiarity with HSE regulations and best practices in offshore operations
  • Proficiency in managing survey operations and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with geospatial tools (e.g., GIS) and data interpretation software.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines, such as ISO, IEC, or DNV-GL.
