Front End Developer (React and Typescript) - Edinburgh Hybrid - 50-60K plus 30% bonus

* Central Edinburgh - Hybrid - 3 days in, 2 days WFH - Very commutable by public transport, close to both city centre train stations and easily accessible by bus

Lorien's client, a great, leading and growing firm operating in the world's largest financial market, is looking to recruit a Front End Software Developer to add to their Edinburgh office, bolster their development function, and continue to develop products and tooling for their expanding customer base.

Right now, they're looking for a Front End Developer with strong TypeScript and React skills to help in the development of several large-scale, sophisticated Single-Page Applications as part of their wider multi-window trading platform and work closely with their team in London (which is also growing at pace).

An insight into the duties involved:

  • Improve the key, global-reaching platform at the heart of our client's operations
  • Design, enhance and maintain Front End software and relevant APIs
  • Liaise with a cross-functional team of Product Management, QA, UX/UI and other Developers at all levels to push new products to release
  • Ensure documentation is in order, as well as follow best practice in line with agreed processes and procedure

What they're looking for you to bring to the table:

  • Expert Front End development skills with React and TypeScript
  • A good knowledge of current Front End trends and methods
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, Web Sockets and various browsers including Chrome
  • A good "under the bonnet" knowledge of software development ideally including data structures/algos, memory, performance debugging, and maybe some knowledge of Back End development
