Power BI Developer

(Edinburgh/Glasgow/Aberdeen, or Fully Remote)

Profile:

Lorien's client, a tech-loving organisation with expansion in their sights, is looking for a new Power BI Developer, to work either fully remote, or in one of their Glasgow, Edinburgh, or Aberdeen offices (whichever is closest to you), as part of their growing IT function.

This exciting position will focus on the provision of data visualisation dashboards as well as other data-oriented solutions which will impact the entire firm. This person will take the reins not only in the gathering of relevant stakeholder requirements, but also act in a hands-on capacity where it comes to developing these into tailored dashboard solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working end to end from conception, to crafting and maintaining user-friendly Power BI MI reports and dashboards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to collect, record, and align requirements to the firm's wider the BI objectives, while galvanising relationships with all involved
  • Collaborate with the larger IT function to collect and analyse data from current databases, ensuring secure, accurate and consistent reports
  • Design a plan for Power BI governance and deployment
  • Providing mentoring and support to other team members/staff from different disciplines
  • Steer direction of Power BI and data projects, while acting as the go-to person for all things data/visualisation

About you:

  • Track record building SQL queries and performance monitoring
  • Previous dealings working on data visualization and dashboard development in PowerBI
  • Specialist knowledge of DAX, Analysis Services, SSRS reporting, and SSIS.
  • Exposure to SQL and strong grasp of data architecture/design
  • Ability to work with stakeholders at any level
  • Data integration exposure, into a data warehouse.
  • PowerBI certification (and ideally, a SQL certification)
