Technical Author – Good Salary - Industrial and Off-Road Systems

A Technical Author is required to join a market leading Innovative Industrial and Off-Road Systems Company that is nearly 100 years old and is a leading UK supplier with significant growth expectations, so an exceptional time to join the organisation. The Technical Author will be Reporting to and Engineering Director.
The Technical Author will be part of a small but growing team, working on designs for Industrial Systems and related off-road products primarily for the rail and mining sector (On-Surface and Below). The products and size of platforms range dependent on project and end client and are powered by Diesel, electric, battery or hybrid technologies. This Technical Author opportunity is a chance to join a team that is close working with all employees, including the Directors, Managers Engineers and support personnel.
Technical Author - Key Responsibilities and Experience Required
- Technical Manuals including Operators Manuals
- Maintenance Manuals and Parts Lists
- Service Bulletins and Training information
- Good command of the English language, both written and verbal
- The ability to understand electronic and pneumatic schematics
- Able to translate them into the written word
- The ability to format and use Microsoft Office products to a high standard
- Ideally experience with Adobe InDesign (desktop publishing), Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro (video creation)
- Ability to use 3D CAD software to capture data/images for the technical documentation
- Ability to render 3D CAD images to a high standard
- Background in electrical/mechanical engineering enabling understanding of technical criteria
- The ability to communicate all levels of personnel within the company
- A drive to constantly improve the material produced
- A ‘can do’ attitude to ensure accurate and complete technical documentation is produced
- A willingness to assist other company personnel in the performance of their duties when necessary
Hours Holidays
- 37 hours/week
- Flexitime working available if needed
- 7.30 – 16.00 Mon to Thurs
- 7.30 – 12.30 Fri
- 25 days + 8 statutory holidays
