The CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator is tasked with programming, setting up, and operating CNC Turning Machines to produce high-precision aerospace components. This role requires expertise in CNC turning, including multi-axis lathes, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- CNC Programming: Develop programs for CNC 2 & 3-axis lathes with live tooling using Fanuc controls to ensure precise and efficient machining.
- Machine Setup & Production: Set up machines and produce initial components, ensuring they meet all specifications and tolerances.
- Multi-Machine Operation: Operate multiple CNC lathes as required to achieve production targets.
- Documentation: Generate and maintain detailed machine setup documentation for consistency and future reference.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest cutting technology and seek opportunities to enhance CNC machining processes.
- Liaison: Collaborate with management to meet production deadlines and proactively address any challenges.
- Technical Support: Assist in developing and implementing solutions to production-related issues.
- Quality Assurance: Work with Engineering and Quality teams to uphold company procedures and quality standards.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Team Support: Support team members and mentor new staff as needed.
- Health & Safety: Follow all Health and Safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Additional Duties: Perform other relevant tasks to support machine shop operations as required.
Experience & Skills:
- Essential:
- Extensive experience in CNC programming, setting, and operating 2-axis and multi-axis lathes with a tolerance of 0.008mm, using Fanuc controls.
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and using precision measuring equipment.
- Experience in the aerospace industry.
- Ability to work with both Metric and Imperial measurements.
- Strong computer literacy and methodical approach to work.
