CNC Setter Operator - Manufacturing, Machine Shop (Milling) - Permanent, Full-Time


About the Role: We are seeking an experienced CNC Setter Operator to join our team in Egham. This role involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-quality aerospace components. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of precision and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce small-batch aerospace components with precision and adherence to engineering drawings.
  • Component Production: Ensure timely production of components while maintaining strict quality standards.
  • Machine Setup: Configure CNC machine tools for operators as required.
  • Quality Assurance: Use various measuring instruments to inspect and ensure components meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Mentoring: Guide and support new staff members in understanding processes and equipment.
  • Packaging: Ensure proper protection of products for transit.
  • Manufacturing Plan: Follow and prioritize tasks according to the manufacturing plan.
  • Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain all manufacturing paperwork.
  • Task Execution: Perform tasks assigned by the Team Leader efficiently.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
  • Team Support: Assist team members and contribute to overall team performance.
  • Health & Safety: Follow Health & Safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake other relevant tasks as required to support Machine Shop operations.

Experience & Skills:

  • Essential:
    • Extensive experience in CNC Milling.
    • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and using measuring equipment.
    • Experience in the aerospace industry and with Mazak CNC Machining Centres.
    • Ability to edit CNC programs and work with both Metric and Imperial measurements.
    • Strong computer literacy and methodical work approach.
