Freightserve recruitment are looking for an Air Import Clerk for a medium sized Freight Forwarder. The company is based in the Egham, Surrey area.
An experienced airfreight operator who will embrace the opportunity to work closely with the pricing team, operations, business development managers and agents to undertake all operational requirements of the import section within the airfreight division.
- Providing excellent customer service, operational handling & attention to detail when dealing with customers
- Liaising with internal and external teams to ensure client and company expectations are met
- Generating import customs entries whilst ensuring compliance with HMRC obligations
- Ensuring all external temporary storage facility (ETSF) movements are handled in-line with HMRC regulations
- Assisting with administration tasks within the department, including job costing and invoicing for the import team
- Ensure all duty/tax payments made via FTS are collected and monitored.
- Demonstrating excellent communication with customers, agents & suppliers via phone and email
- Undertaking airfreight import operations, ensuring receipt of bookings, arranging customs clearance, airline liaison and collection & delivery of cargo to final delivery point
- Organising import bookings with overseas agents
- Complete credit checks on accounts in-line with company policy
- Ensure arrival notifications are promptly dealt with and keeping stakeholders updated throughout
Required Experience:-
- Strong customer service background, confident personality, with previous experience within Airfreight operations
- Working knowledge of Import customs clearance within airfreight.
- Time management and communication skills
- The ability to prioritise and to pro-actively deal with situations and use initiative
- Ability to work independently as well as blend well with a friendly and effective team
