Role Overview:

proAV are a leading global audio visual integrator, providing AV and event services across multiple client partnerships globally.

Our requirement is for an experienced Design Manager to be a key part of our team, representing proAV, taking full responsibility for overseeing and managing the design department, providing leadership, and ensuring best of breed audio visual, smart and technical designs in an agile environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional, experienced Design Manager to join an established operation with scope to drive and enhance the service at every opportunity.

Experience and seniority of the position will be reflected by the remuneration and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design process from conception to completion ensuring all work adheres to company standards and project specification.
  • Develop and implement design processes that enhance efficiency and quality of output.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of ISO standards / Avixa guidelines and integrate these principles into design practices to ensure consistent quality.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies.
  • Manage and mentor the design team, encouraging a collaborative environment that strives for innovation and professional growth.
  • Conduct and oversee annual reviews for the design team, including performance management.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of design deliverables.
  • Provide regular reports to the Senior Management Team on design team performance, project progress, and strategic initiatives, risks and lessons learned.
  • Establish as purposeful and measurable adoption of automation and AI, to improve productivity and standardisation.

Desirable skills:

  • At least 5 years experience working as a departmental Manager.
  • Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Teams.

  • Effective communicator.

  • A positive, enthusiastic and can-do approach to delivering the role.

  • A "people person" with effective soft skills.

  • Proven track record of delivering complex AV system designs in AutoCAD or similar and knowledge of current AV technology and system integration.
  • Self-sufficient and independently work to deadlines and manage workload.
