Our client

We have taken another role brief for an existing client of ours and they are currently looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to join their business. They have achieved a lot of success over recent years due to increased client demand and referrals for new projects due to outstanding delivery. They pride themselves in consistently going the extra mile to support clients to fulfil on key requirements and are experts in their field from working in the industry for over 35 years. Hours: The hours will be between Monday - Friday 7.30am - 4pm

Job description

  • Develop, review, and implement health and safety policies and procedures to meet legal and organisational standards across all sites in London.
  • Maintain and update the company’s health and safety management system in line with current legislation.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments for various work activities and environments.
  • Lead and assist in internal safety audits and inspections to evaluate compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure full compliance with UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines, COSHH, RIDDOR, and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Monitor legislative changes and ensure the company adheres to any updates in health and safety law.
  • Maintain accurate records of all health and safety documentation, such as safety data sheets, incident reports, and training logs.
  • Prepare and submit detailed incident reports for management, ensuring all incidents are properly documented and reported to the relevant authorities as per legal requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and periodically test emergency response procedures, including fire drills, first aid responses, and evacuation plans.
  • Ensure that all staff are familiar with emergency protocols and are properly trained to act in case of an emergency.

Key requirements

  • Construction industry experience
  • Experience with a HSEQ management system.
  • Experience in the maintenance of ISO 9001 and 14001 certification.
  • NEBOSH qualification
  • IOSH and experience with ISO / CHAS desirable.
  • Computer literate.
  • Driving license.
