TEACHING ASSISTANT

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in providing a nurturing and effective learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and experience working with children, particularly those with autism and special educational needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and educating students, helping them to achieve their academic goals while fostering their social and emotional development.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to the needs of students.
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring and support to students, ensuring they understand the material being taught.
  • Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging student participation and promoting good behaviour.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to discuss progress and any concerns.
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources.
  • Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students requiring additional assistance.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education.

Experience

  • Previous experience working with children
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with children and adults alike.
  • Experience in tutoring or mentoring roles is advantageous.
  • A background in special education or relevant qualifications would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy are crucial for this role.
