Job description

  • Working closely with the Contract Manager, you will be responsible for a variety of purchasing and procurement duties to support with the buying of material goods for the business.
  • Ensure quality, price, and availability are aligned with project timelines and budgets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules to secure favorable agreements.
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers to improve procurement options.
  • Monitor and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Provide regular reports on spending, savings, and supplier performance.
  • Coordinate with site managers and project teams to ensure materials are delivered on time and in full.
  • Manage stock levels to avoid shortages and delays.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records.
  • Cultivate relationships with key suppliers
  • Ensure all documentation is collated and stored in line with company policies.
  • Carry out any reasonable request of a similar nature as directed by Senior Management.

Key skills

  • Buying experience with understanding of BQQs, budgets and drawings.
  • Purchasing and procurement knowledge including process management.
  • Organised with good attention to detail.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
