My client in Egham Surrey is currently in need of a Grinder due to expansion.
OVERALL, PURPOSE
Cylindrical grinding and surface grinding of high precision components
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Setting and operating Myford Cylindrical grinders
- Cylindrical Grinding of small diameter journals to +/- microns in low volume production
- Fitting and dressing of grinding wheels
- Using companies MRP system for attendance and booking on and off works order cards
- Maintain a safe working environment and observe the published Health and Safety procedures,
- To carry out any other tasks where reasonable and relevant, when required,
- Must be vigilant and diligent, with a good attention to detail and to maintain high standards of work,
- Proven skills within an engineering environment,
- May be required to work overtime when required to achieve delivery dates,
- Working to AS/ISO approved standards.
Qualifications
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade C or above
- Abrasive Wheel Qualification
- Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent
EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS
- Manual grinding using Jones and Shipmen and Myford grinders
- Grinding small batch work for Aerospace components
- Proven experience of grinding to tight limits (=/- microns)
- Work to drawings, procedures and specifications
- Understand fits and tolerances
- Uses of hand tools and measuring equipment
- Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
The hourly rate for this role is paying £16.52 p/h
