Support Worker

Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including senior care, assisted living, and home care environments. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in need, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting independence.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health or behaviour.
• Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when required, ensuring safe practices are followed.
• Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their emotional well-being.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to senior staff members.
• Support clients with meal preparation and dietary needs, ensuring nutritional requirements are met.
• Drive clients to appointments or social outings as needed, ensuring their safety during transport.
• Implement first aid procedures when necessary and maintain a safe environment for all clients.

Requirements

• Previous experience in senior care, home care, or assisted living is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of patient care principles and practices.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
• Certification in first aid is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
• A valid driving licence is essential for transporting clients when required.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients of all ages, including children if applicable.
• A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
• Flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of clients is essential.
