White Label Recruitment is representing an engineering business in Elland that requires a Project Engineer to join their team.
This is a role that encompasses design and project management from start to finish.
Summary of the Project Engineer role
A diverse and challenging role that requires both technical and commercial awareness. As a project engineer it is your responsibility to design, manage, purchase, and liaise with customers and suppliers alike - to deliver a project on time, to customer specifications, and within budget. With this role comes a high degree of autonomy and responsibility to manage your own time, and project budget, whilst communicating with the wider engineering team and supply chain. The candidate should have a good understanding of SolidWorks, sheet metal design, and fabrication. Training will be provided for key aspects of this role.
Responsibilities of the Project Engineer
- Produce quality, accurate, realistic designs using SolidWorks.
- Read, understand, and apply customer specifications to ensure system compliance.
- Produce technical documents such as general arrangement drawings, parts lists, manufacturing drawings, quality plans, and P&IDs.
- professionally liaise with customers either in person or via TEAMs.
- Source components through an established supply chain and negotiate price and terms.
- Produce project plans/ Gantt charts and ensure projects run on time.
- Contribute to the overall performance of the engineering department.
- Work effectively with the engineering team and shopfloor personnel.
- Help maintain the design library.
- Test machines following API614.
- Produce manufacturing dossiers.
Experience required of the Project Engineer
- 3D CAD experience (Ideally Solidworks).
- 5 years or more experience in Mechanical Engineering.
- HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Package
- A salary of £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
- Monday – Thursday 8:30 – 17:00 and 08:30 – 16:30 on Friday with 45 minutes for lunch (38.25-hour week).
