The Company: An established, growth orientated financial planning firm based in Halifax who are looking to add an experienced, qualified Paraplanner to their technical/report writing team. This is a role in support 2 very high performing, private wealth focused financial advisers with the opportunity to take on senior/supervisory responsibilities for more junior members of staff:

  • Office Location: Halifax
  • Hybrid/Home Working: Yes - Hybrid office/home working

Package: £38-45k base + discretionary bonus and full company benefits

  • Benefits: 5% Pension, 4 x DIS and a full flexible benefits package
  • Holidays: 25 days holiday + stats
  • Working hours: 35hrs p/w

The Role: A Senior Paraplanner role/remit providing full support to the Advisers, acting as a technical port of call for all client queries as well as the mentoring of junior staff. Offering the most efficient, professional and effective client service possible is the order of the day, with a high focus on quality and accuracy. Duties include:

  • Creating and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and management
  • Creating, implementing and maintaining any templates broadly used across the department
  • Working with the IFAs to identify new business opportunities within the existing client bank, accountancy practice clients and beyond to help maximise the potential of the department
  • Liaising with the advisors throughout the advice process
  • Providing portfolio and fund analysis reports to advisors prior to client meetings
  • Dealing with platforms and product providers to obtain information about existing and potential investments
  • Researching investments, fund options, pension transfers, retirement options, mortgages, life assurance and income protection
  • Attending bimonthly departmental meetings and managing administration team meetings as required, minuting the meetings.

The Person: An IFA/wealth management background is required with extensive experience of product research and suitability report compilation. Will suit someone looking to take on a senior role, and can bring solid experience of Inheritance Tax Planning - This is due to the pending changes whereby Pensions will now form part of a clients Estate:

  • 3+ years’ paraplanning experience working in a similar financial planning environment would be required
  • Working knowledge of O&M profiler, Iress exchange, FE Analytics would also be beneficial
