Stores Operative

Elland Service Centre, HX5 9HB

Salary: £11.50 per hour

Hours: 39.5 hours per week, Mon - Thurs 08:00 - 16:30 , Fri - 08:00 - 16:00

Job purpose:

To enable the business to achieve the agreed contractual standard of service required, by working to administer all aspects of stock and the stores area within the depot and to report back any issues to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

To Include but not limited to:

  • Effectively manage all Work Orders are completed by Contract Date and updates are actioned daily.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy Stores area and working in a way to ensure all Company Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure accurate picking and storage of stock and equipment.
  • Carrying out interim stock takes and checks to ensure accuracy and identify potential data or system issues.
  • Effective management of stock control levels, ensuring parts availability across all areas and identifying obsolete parts possibly useful over other contracts / services.
  • Supporting the stores team to ensure all daily tasks are completed, including goods in, stock ordering, driver runs and housekeeping.
  • To drive innovation and stock management improvements, focusing on use and sustainability of refurbished parts.
  • Ensure any PPE supplied for use in carrying out duties is used as instructed.
  • Agree to undertake all training offered that is necessary to maintain the skills required for this role.
  • Provide support to the other parts of the business when required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience of a Stores environment.
  • Good understanding of Contract Dates and Contract Compliance.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • Flexible approach to working conditions and working environment change.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Effective team worker, leading by example.

Physical demands of the job:

  • Moving and handling of equipment and accessories following handling guidelines.
  • Moving stock and locating correctly.
  • Lifting.
  • Use of moving equipment.

The prevention and control of infection is an integral part of the role of all personnel. Staff members will contribute to the prevention and control of infection through standard infection control practises and compliance with the Company infection control policy.
