Elevation Recruitment Group are partnered with a leading energy supplier who are recruiting a Terminal Controller for one of their sites in Ellesmere Port.  As Terminal Controller, this role will provide leadership and direction to the team, focusing on safety, compliance, and productivity while managing operational costs within budgetary guidelines.The role will have direct line responsibility for 3 employees whilst supporting around 150 members of staff across the North-West. The role may have occasional travel within the region but will be predominantly site based. Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Strategic Support: Assist the UK Head of Transport in implementing strategic objectives and fostering continuous improvement across the terminal
  • Team Leadership: Guide terminal personnel daily, promoting competence, accountability, and safety-focused performance
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee all day-to-day terminal activities, ensuring adherence to budget and KPIs
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams (Safety, Engineering, Customer Services) to enhance operational efficiency
  • Financial Accountability: Cultivate financial accountability within the team to optimize individual and site performance
  • Peak Season Flexibility: Adjust working hours as needed to support operational demands, particularly during peak winter months (October-March)
  • Quality Management: Management of BS ISO9001 with a focus on compliance
Qualifications & experience:
  • Extensive experience in fuels/chemicals, with proven management experience in an Upper Tier COMAH environment
  • Relevant degree (Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or Safety Management)
  • NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety; CPC Management (preferred)
  • Comprehensive understanding of UK/EU safety regulations, especially COMAH, Health and Safety at Work Act, and Environmental Protection Act
