Academics is offering supply and long-term teaching opportunities in Birkenhead for an Early Careers Teacher (ECT) who are keen to work with students diagnosed with ASD. Key Responsibilities as an Early Careers Teacher (ECT):

  • Teach and support students with ASD in both primary and secondary settings.

  • Work closely with SENCOs and support staff to ensure that students with ASD are fully supported in their learning.
  • Foster a positive and structured classroom environment, promoting the social, emotional, and academic development of your students.
  • Assess and monitor progress, providing feedback to students, parents, and school staff.

Requirements for an Early Careers Teacher (ECT):

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards completing your Early careers Teacher (ECT) induction.
  • A genuine interest in working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other SEN.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work on a supply basis or in long-term placements.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and the well-being of students.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with students with ASD or other SEN needs (in school settings or otherwise).
  • Knowledge of strategies to support learners with ASD.
