Your new companyHays Recruitment are currently supporting a Ellesmere Port-based single-form entry primary and nursery schools as they are looking to appoint a motivated and experienced teaching assistant to support the KS1 and KS2 (Key Stage) classes. This is a long-term full-time contract starting after the February half-term, and an immediate start can be accommodated for the right individual.Your new roleAs a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting all the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 classes. You work alongside class teachers to offer a stimulating and engaging learning environment and aid in general classroom and behaviour management. You will build strong constructive relationships with pupils by taking a pupil-centred approach to education and actively encouraging pupils to take part in lessons. You will offer intervention and booster sessions in all core subjects as required as well as offer intense interventions within a separate classroom on a small group basis. You will ensure that all sessions are in line with attainment needs by liaising with class teachers.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience as a teaching assistant within the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Previous experience supporting KS1 and/or KS2 classes
  • Experience holding intervention and booster sessions
  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous
