Your new companyHays Recruitment are currently supporting an Ellesmere Port-based Primary School as they are looking to appoint a reliable and experienced KS2 (Key Stage 2) teaching assistant to assist the Year 5 class. This is a long-term part-time contract 3 days per week and will consist of general classroom support.Your new roleAs a teaching assistant within this school, you will support the Year 5 class teacher in offering a stimulating and engaging learning environment. You will effectively utilise all learning equipment as to promote engagement and focus of pupils as well as implement a myriad of positive behaviour strategies to ensure an inclusive learning environment for all pupils. You will take a proactive approach within the classroom as to effectively identify pupil shortfalls and accordingly support, as well as offer intervention and booster sessions.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last two years, as well as:

  • Have experience delivering intervention and booster sessions
  • Be able to commit to full school days 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous
