About the Job:

As a special needs education teaching assistant, you will assist the learning of the children individually or in small groups, sometimes with support from other members of staff. However, you will need to provide personalised attention to each student that you work with through further learning exercises and private sessions practicing verbal, visual and kinaesthetic learning techniques to unlock the pupil's potential. You will be working with children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs; CLD, PMLD, SLD, ADHD and Autism. Previous experience of working in schools or working with young people is desirable, however is not essential. For instance, you can use braille for children with visual impairment, sign language for deaf students and computers to assist children with dyslexia. You may also partake within movement therapy for those students that struggle to concentrate in lessons.
