Industrial/Compex Electrician
Permanent Position: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (40 hours per week)
Overtime: There is potential for working up to 50 hours per week but this can't be guaranteed every week.
Location: Work in Ellesmere Port's workshop and client sites across the UK and Europe. 25% workshop. 75% travelling customer sites across the UK.
Reporting to: Workshop Manager
Join our clients busy Ellesmere Port based workshop to assist with building electrical skids and kiosks.
You will also support with a variety of electrical tasks including project installation work, control panel manufacture, pre-testing and pre-commissioning of completed projects and PAT testing.
You will be working from a range of technical drawings to complete project installation works and will need to effectively communicate suggestions for editing of electrical drawings to instigate improvements, modifications and innovations.
You will be required to complete testing of electrical circuits and panels, to ensure systems are safe and compliant with regulations in addition to regular PAT testing of equipment both scheduled and requisite.
Ideally you will be self-motivated and proactive in your approach to work and work effectively in accordance with legislative regulatory rules.
You'll need to be well organised with a good attention to detail and able to identify and implement changes to improve efficiency.
Finally, they are looking for a strong team player that enjoys being challenged.
Qualifications
- C&G in an Electrical Installations or similar discipline.
- 2391 Inspection and Test, City & Guilds Electrical qualifications or equivalent
- 18th Edition wiring regulations
- Ideally you will have CompEx 01-04. If you don't have this, experience in COMAH environments would be preferred.
Hours
Standard 40-hour week in their workshop however you can realistically expect 45-50 hours per week.
- 07:15 - 16:45 Monday - Thursday
- 07:45 - 12:00 Friday
Mainly workshop work but can expect site work too which will incur an uplift in rate by 15%

Hourly paid permanent role, based on a regular 40 hour week
- Electrician (No Compex) - £18.09ph - £37,627.20 salary
- Compex Electrician - £19.64ph - £40,851.20 salary
Based on a regular 45 hour week
- Electrician (No Compex) - £18.09ph - £44,682.30 salary
- Compex Electrician - £19.64ph - £48,510.80 salary
Based on a regular 50 hour week
- Electrician (No Compex) - £18.09ph - £(phone number removed) salary
- Compex Electrician - £19.64ph - £56,170.40 salary
Additional earning potential 15% uplift for site work.
