As a Freight Forwarder, you’ll be at the heart of our logistics operations, ensuring smooth, efficient, and timely delivery of cargo to our customers. You’ll handle end-to-end logistics, liaising with colleagues, customers, and suppliers to keep things running smoothly. Here’s a breakdown of what your day-to-day will look like:
The Candidate
- Experience in freight forwarding, particularly import and export operations.
- Strong knowledge of multimodal logistics, especially sea and road freight.
- Familiarity with Incoterms, Bills of Lading, and customs procedures.
- Confidence in providing customer quotes and managing supplier relationships.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate Shipments: Ensure accurate preparation and dispatch of cargo from multiple locations, maintaining compliance and proper documentation for all stakeholders.
- Multimodal Solutions: Use a mix of sea, road, rail, and air transport to meet customer needs.
- Customer Service: Provide prompt responses to enquiries, draft quotations, and keep clients up to date with shipment progress.
- Sales and Business Development: Spot and develop new sales opportunities within the logistics sector, helping to expand our business.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all shipping documents are prepared and compliant with regulations, including Bills of Lading (HBL & MBL).
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with internal teams, including sales, finance, and operations, to ensure smooth operations across departments.
- Liaise with External Partners: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and industry bodies like BIFA, RHA, and Customs authorities.
- Invoice Management: Work with the Head of Logistics to ensure accurate and timely invoicing of all shipments.
