Performance Improvement Manager (Energy from Waste)

Salary: £70,000-£90,000 per annum depending on experience + PMI, 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays, Pension

We are working exclusively with a pioneering Energy from Waste Facility (EfW/WtE) Our client is a leading innovator in sustainable energy, specialising in converting waste into renewable power. They also integrate carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies. Role
Are you an experienced leader with a passion for driving operational excellence and efficiency? Do you have the technical expertise and leadership skills to improve performance of Energy from Waste plant performance? As the Performance Improvement Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the plant operates at maximum efficiency. You will act as the interface between the Operations, Maintenance, and Outage teams, driving continuous improvement and ensuring the plant meets its performance targets. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead key initiatives in process optimization, safety, and stakeholder engagement.
Example of Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Develop and implement engineering processes to enhance plant efficiency and reliability.
- Oversee continuous improvement initiatives to enhance power generation output and reduce operational costs.
- Oversee data collection and analysis to identify and resolve operational bottlenecks.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and drive a strong safety culture.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively, optimising cost-control strategies.
- Engage with stakeholders, including regulators and senior leadership.
- Lead engineering projects, upgrades, and maintenance improvements.
Experience/ Skills Required
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in power generation, energy, or heavy industry
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive cultural change
- Proven experience in business/process improvements
- Knowledge of power station processes (turbines, boilers, electrical/control systems)
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and asset management systems
- Existing right to work in the UK
