Their commitment to excellence has positioned our client as a leader in our industry, and are now looking to expand the procurement team by recruiting a talented Indirect Category Buyer.
Role Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Indirect Category Buyer to join our client's dynamic team. This role is fully autonomous, offering you the freedom to manage your responsibilities independently while contributing to our client's strategic goals. After a successful probation period, you will have the flexibility to work in a hybrid model.
This position will play an integral part of the overall procurement strategy for the business, and will allow for full autonomy over the businesses indirect spend including implementing an indirect spend policy and introducing approvals / controls processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage indirect purchasing activities to ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services across various commodities / services
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions
- Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to achieve optimal value for the company
- Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing needs and provide effective solutions
- Continuously seek opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Internal stakeholder management / business partnering
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with indirect purchasing within a manufacturing environment
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- CIPS qualification is desirable but not essential
