Direct Recruitment Services are seeking a skilled Business Development Manager to join our long established client based in Preston. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the Freight Forwarding market via all modes of Transport.

Duties

  • Boost sales of full loads and groupage movements across all sectors, including UK Domestic, Irish, European, and Deep Sea.
  • Explore new markets and business opportunities, nurturing them into viable trading partnerships.
  • Maintain a strong and steady pipeline of opportunities.
  • Connect with potential clients by expanding, nurturing, and utilizing your professional network.
  • Identify potential clients and key decision-makers within their organizations.
  • Utilize market and competitor insights to define and enhance the companys unique selling points and competitive advantages.
  • Provide weekly progress reports to the General Manager, outlining the status of the pipeline, conversion rates, and future plans.
  • Monitor and document activities on accounts, assisting in closing deals to achieve target

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Freight Forwarding environment
  • Established sales history with a solid record of successfully converting opportunities.
  • Capable of achieving clearly defined targets.
  • Knowledgeable about various transport markets, including European, UK Domestic, Irish, and Deep Sea.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Skilled in building rapport and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight stays when necessary.
  • Proven capability to develop and manage a sales pipeline that fosters continuous growth
