Finance Assistant (Full Time)

Office Based

Ellesmere Port

You will be working for a SME business based in Ellesmere Port, they are looking for an Finance Assistant, to report to the Finance Manager. They use Xero software and would consider someone with AAT 2/3 or QBE.

Main Duties:

To Manage Accounts Payable

  • Receive, match, and post invoices/credit notes.
  • Reconcile and agree statements; request documents not received.
  • Handle enquiries and disputes.
  • Collate payments

To Manage Accounts Receivable

  • Issue customer invoices/credit notes.
  • Issue statements at regular intervals.
  • Handle enquiries and disputes.
  • Manage receipt of documentation for non-UK transactions.
  • Partner with third-party finance providers for credit control.
  • Record receipts and payments in bank accounts (multi-currency).
  • Reconcile bank accounts (multi-currency).
  • Record and reconcile card accounts.

Other Duties

  • Manage the general accounts mailbox in Outlook.
  • Handle general post (small volume).
  • Assist with ordering goods/services as required.
  • Support the Finance Manager with collation and presentation of finance data.
  • Assist with other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Experience with export transactions and documentation.
  • Familiarity with paperless finance office environments.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (useful but not essential).
