Design Engineer

Prime Appointments are currently working with a leading manufacturer, based on the outskirts of Colchester, who are currently looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their talented team of engineers!

This role offers the opportunity to work on industry-leading projects and collaborate with a team of engineers focused on developing high-quality mechanical components.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be required to:

• Utilize 3D CAD software to produce precise, detailed design drawings
• Develop and refine mechanical systems according to specific project needs
• Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve design-related challenges
• Create schematics and system layouts for mechanical components
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure designs align with project specifications
• Apply SolidWorks and other CAD tools for 3D modeling and simulation

Qualifications Required

• Skilled in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) with a solid grounding in core mechanical design principles
• Highly experienced in using CAD software, with particular expertise in SolidWorks
• Experience with SolidWorks Electrical would be beneficial
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and component operations
