A CAD Engineer / Draughtsman is required to join a well-established company that specialise in providing noise control solutions across the UK to the energy industry. Due to the growth of our projects across Merford Group, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced CAD Engineer / Draughtsman to join the team, working on a wide variety of Projects across the UK.
Position Overview
- Creating quality and innovative engineered designs for a wide variety of noise control projects in 2D and 3D.
- Conduct coordination activities, including model integration, quality assurance, and clash detection using tools such as Navisworks and ACC.
- Producing technical layout drawings and designs from site surveys
- Creating general layouts and accurate outline CAD drawings
- Producing manufacturing drawings
- Liaising with sub-contractors and main contractors on design elements
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation and reports related to design projects.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations throughout the design process.
- Participate in project meetings to discuss design progress and address any issues that may arise.
Position Requirements
- Level 5 HND in Engineering or Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- AutoCAD Inventor proficient
- Construction and/or civil engineering experience preferred
- Work experience with sheet metal constructions and structural steel frames
- Site surveying experience preferred
- Good levels of communication
- Experience using Autodesk Advance Steel is desirable
- BIM coordination experience and demonstrated knowledge of BIM and BS1192/ISO19650
- Ideally at least 3 years' experience using AutoCAD Inventor and relevant industry experience.
- Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary with exposure to civil and MEP design, and construction teams.
Position Remuneration
- Salary 30,000 - 40,000, experience dependent
- Paid holiday - 38 days inc Bank holidays
