Progress Teachers are currently recruiting for a 1-1 SEND Teaching Assistant on behalf of a lovely primary school in the Matlock of Derby. The role is to commence immediately for the right candidate and will continue until the end of the academic year, and has the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate!

The roles involve working on a 1-1 basis with a pupil in Reception (EYFS) who has Autism and is Non-verbal. No challenging behaviour is associated with this role.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Support on a 1-1 basis
  • Develop resources that support learning
  • Attend third party agency meetings where required
  • Liaise closely with the school SENCO
  • Provide regular feedback to the class teacher on pupil attainment
  • Keep accurate documentation on student progress
  • Personal care
  • Follow the schools policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
  • Have previous experience of working either within the Education Sector or the care sector
  • Previous experience of working with individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant/Childcare qualification
