We are looking for a Head Chef for an established day time only restaurant serving all fresh locally sourced produce for the breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea menus

It will suit a current Head Chef/Sous Chef looking to step up with a quality food led background and strong people management, menu development and cost control skills.

Role - Head Chef

As the Head Chef you will:

  • Manage all aspects of the kitchen in a hands-on capacity
  • Control labour, the GP, and all costs & budgets
  • Recruit, train and develop your team
  • Write and cost seasonally changing menus
  • Order and control stock and liaise with suppliers
  • Maintain high standards of presentation, compliance and company systems & procedures
  • Work closely with the front of house team
  • Work to company targets and KPIs'

Attributes - Head Chef

  • Experience as a Head Chef/Sous Chef in busy restaurants, catering operations, pubs or hotels
  • Strong financial & commercial acumen - controlling GP's, labour, costs & budgets
  • Excellent people, communication and people management skills
  • A hands-on lead from the front approach and a very keen eye for detail
  • An intrinsic understanding of legislation & compliance
  • Menu development skills - writing and costing dishes and menus
  • Strong leadership, coaching, performance management and people development skills
  • A positive and outgoing personality and outlook
  • IT literate - working with systems & process
