Looking for a varied and challenging Health & Safety Manager role?

We're recruiting for a proactive Health & Safety Manager to join a small, successful Ely based business.

You'll be managing the Health & Safety department, with duties including:

  • Interpreting and adapting current legislation & ensuring compliance, including Office Risk Assessments; Accident Reporting and H&S Policies.
  • Ensuring employees are up to date with mandatory training; Annual, CSCS, NVQ
  • Managing grant Applications
  • Keeping training matrix up to date
  • Arranging DBS & other safeguarding checks for on-site staff
  • Completing risk assessment method statements (RAMS) and COSHH assessments
  • Ensuring the business' accreditations including ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 are kept up to date
  • Management of PPE budget
  • Providing specific support & advice to the team
  • Regular meetings with H&S Director
  • Continual development of H&S within the business to ensure best practice
  • Attending sites to include setting up site inspections, toolbox talks & carrying out audits
  • Sub-Contractor vetting, accident Investigation and PPE
  • Prepare and distribute Safety Memos
  • Driving forward new initiatives & identifying areas for improvement

You must have the NEBOSH qualification and experience of working in a similar level of role, ideally within the construction industry.

You'll be self-motivated, assertive and have excellent organisational and communication skills.
