Room Leader

Location: Ely

Salary: £27,500 - £29,120 per year

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours over 4.5 days or Monday to Friday, 45 hours over 5 days.

The Role

The Nursery is set in the centre of the Cathedral city of Ely, in close proximity to the river and surrounding parks. They have the capacity for 48 children split between three rooms: 0-2 years, 2-3 years and 3-5 years. The nursery employs 17 full and part-time staff and is open from 8am – 6.00pm 52 weeks a year. They are closed for Public Holidays.

  • Hold accountability for the smooth running of the pre-school room
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with children and outstanding parent partnerships.
  • Providing a safe, hygienic, caring and stimulating environment for the children.
  • Ensuring that the physical, emotional, social and intellectual education and care provided to children is of the highest standard.
  • Planning, carrying out and recording fun, inspirational and educational play and learning opportunities.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A full and relevant Early Years & Childcare qualification at level 3 (Early Years Educator) is required for this role.
  • In some cases, English & Maths GCSE's at grade C or functional skills level 2 in English & Maths is required.
  • Experience of working with children is essential.
